Project Goals
The City of Kalamazoo needed to develop a series of vacant lots in a concentrated, near-downtown neighborhood. The proposed infill plan created a framework for city-led infill development and neighborhood revitalization, with an emphasis on housing diversity. The Rose-Burdick plan featured urban design plans for middle-scale housing and a new lot and circulation layout for city owned lots.
Rose Burdick Approach
This plan was designed to enable market rate, owner-occupied housing of single and multi units per lot. Our services included an analysis of existing conditions and review of the proposed site plan with various city departments.
